One of the most frequent criticisms that I hear of Network Marketing companies in general is ...

"The MLM industry is notorious for over-pricing mediocre products just so the company can pay out commissions."

You've probably run into this often enough. This may even be your experience if you have purchased products from Network Marketing companies or perhaps you have even joined a few and found this to be the discouraging reality.

Most of us are familiar enough with the concept of the value of a product as opposed to the just the price. Even though it's probably more our natural tendency to focus on price when we buy. Too often, we are trying to locate the best deal based on the finding the lowest, rock-bottom price for everything we buy.

For many of us, it's also our experience that "you tend to get what you pay for". And we know that the rock-bottom price can often lead us to lower quality, inferior products. So understanding the value of a product as opposed to just the price of a product is important. This helps us better evaluate the benefit of the product or service we are buying and then decide if it's worth the price. Most of the time, when we make an attempt to evaluate the value of a product, it can be an exercise to justify a higher price based on better quality, more feature/function, something will last longer, etc.

Unfortunately, in the MLM industry, too often companies do tend to over-price mediocre products that don't really deliver good value so that the company can pay out commissions.

In the end, the best litmus test is "would you buy the product if there wasn't a commission plan and business opportunity attached"? That is probably a product that delivers value.

The premise of this story was based on certain weather conditions that occur by themselves frequently enough in the Atlantic ocean to produce the normal storm and hurricane conditions that form from one year to another. But when these same combination of weather conditions converge, align and occur at the same time, a "Perfect Storm" condition occurs that produces a "once in a century" powerful punch! In this case, a powerful hurricane that slammed into Connecticut, when most hurricanes in the Atlantic rarely move north of the Carolinas.

The product(s) or service(s) must be first rate and high quality. You must love the products. If you cant get behind the products with passion, you will know in your heart that you cannot deliver honest value to your customers.
The product(s) or service(s) must deliver recognizable value to the customer. This doesn't mean the lowest price, but value. Value is a combination of quality and benefit to the customer at a price that is more than worthwhile.
Bottom line, you want to find high demand products that people want and would purchase even if there were no compensation plan attached to it.
The company must have a well defined online marketing system that is repeatable and can be duplicated by new distributors that join. This includes lead capture pages, free reports designed for your company's opportunity, follow up email system, and a continual feed back system that leverages fear of loss. You can certainly create this yourself, but much easier if the company provides all of this ready to go. Remember, the system has to be easily duplicated by new people that join. If you create the online marketing system yourself, you must insure that everyone that joins your sales and marketing organization can easily repeat what you have put together.
The company must provide strong support. This includes effective training and education on how to operate the business including all aspects (sales, marketing, online marketing, product knowledge, compensation plan, leadership, etc.). If you have to provide all of the training, you cannot scale your sales organization and business. It's one thing to get someone to buy a distributorship, and it's entirely another to get that person to successfully work the business.

Home Based Business
